Hi, this is Megan from Light My Bricks! As soon as I saw the LEGO® Ideas Mineral Collection, I knew it would make a beautiful addition to our DIY Bundle range. This set already looks great on display, but I wanted to take it one step further — enhancing each mineral with its own glow to create a stunning, museum-quality showcase. It’s a calm, elegant build that becomes even more captivating once illuminated.
Lighting Inspiration
This lighting design uses two complete Spotlight Packs — one cool white and one warm white — to complement the variety of minerals included in the set.
There are two spotlight configurations in this design: six vertical spotlights (three cool white and three warm white) and two horizontal spotlights (one in each colour tone).
Each colour temperature has been carefully chosen to highlight the individual tones and textures of the minerals. The cool white spotlights accentuate stones like the blue fluorite and watermelon tourmaline, giving them a crisp, radiant shimmer. In contrast, the warm white spotlights enrich minerals such as the gold and tangerine quartz, adding depth and a soft, natural glow.
Together, the warm and cool tones create a balanced display — one that feels organic, sophisticated, and true to how these minerals might appear in a real exhibition setting.
